Once again, the infamous THES-QS World University Rankings are out for this year, at least for the Top 200. The remaining Top 201-600 are yet to be released.

No Philippine university made it to TOP 200. But for the THES-QS's World Top 100 universities in Arts and Humanities based on responses to academic peer review, two universities from our country made it! They are:

Ateneo de Manila University, #79 (37.3 points)
University of the Philippines, #82 (36.6 points)

Let's wait for the Top 500.

walang kwenta itong rankign na ito. at alam mo bang kinaryer ito ng tudo ng Ateneo? Saw the data; lots of their profs participated in the survey. that explains the suspicious score they got for the Arts and Humanities dept.

'di ata masyadong valid yung mga ginagamit na criteria ng THES-QS.

no worries.

Hello. MAS MARAMI PANG NATIONAL ARTISTS SA UP KAYSA SA ATENEO!!!

Sira naman na credibility ng survey na yan. Not being bitter pero naman.

It's true the UP did not participate, kaya duda ko yung mga respondents yata na mostly were from Ateneo ay nag rate din sa UP and somehow that updated UP's data na parang lumalabas bago tuloy.

This is totally a flwed ranking. I mean, how can a university based on a 3rd world country can improve --over a hundred places-- in just one year???

but some people from the other forum claim that a respondent is not allowed to rate his own university and the universities coming from his country. thus admu respondents neither can rate admu nor up.

Ako nagsabi sayo nyan eh.

jerome, pls provide the link where it says that -- the respondent is not allowed to rate his own university and the universities coming from his country. I'm curious as I don't think that's true. As far as I know, Oxford can rate Cambridge, Berkeley can rate Stanford, NUS can rate Nanyang, and so on, and so, why can't Ateneo rate UP and vice versa? But I could be wrong here, so please show me the link to that specific guideline. Aren't you intrigued of De La Salle's absence in the league table? 40% of the criteria are based on academic prestige. La Salle carries more weight than Ateneo outside of the Philippines because it is a legit member of ASEAN University Network while Ateneo is not. Who would rate Ateneo “excellent”, for instance and rate DLSU “poor performer”. In my observation from my many travels abroad, any academics outside of the Philippines that have heard of AdMU must have also heard of DLSU, but not necessarily the other way around.
